Dr. Samoel Ashimosi Khamadi has more than 25 years of experience in the Research Field having worked at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) in Kenya, The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), and the Walter Reed Program Henry Jackson Foundation Medical Research International (WRP/HJFMRI) in Kenya and Tanzania in different leadership capacities. He has a PhD in Moleculalr Medicine from the Institute of Tropical Medicine at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, a Master of Public Health degree in International Health from University of Liverpool, and a Master of Business Administration degree in Leadership and Sustainability from the University of Cumbria. Out of his research activities and collaborations, he has published more than 100 papers in peer reviewed journals. Among other responsibilities, he has served as a member of National Technical Working Groups for the Ministries of Health in Kenya and Tanzania. Within KEMRI, Dr. Khamadi heads the Centre for Virus Research (CVR) where he coordinates research studies related to viral diseases and outbreaks. Dr Khamadi will provide overall leadership of the EAVI Study at KEMRI.
