Integrated Prevention & Surveillance
WP3 strengthens vector control and complements prevention through improved diagnostics and integrated epidemiological surveys in humans and vectors. The workstream pursues three objectives:

1. Develop harmonised molecular and serological methods to enhance diagnostics and enable point of care testing.
2. Determine circulation patterns and strain variability of CHIKV and other arboviruses across human and vector populations in the study areas.
3. Monitor the evolution of the vaccine virus for safety oversight, including investigation of any serious adverse events, and sequence CHIKV from breakthrough infections.
By aligning diagnostic innovation with vector surveillance, WP3 will generate actionable evidence to support public health responses.
