Technology Transfer & Strategic Partnership
WP4 focuses on capacity building and strategic partnerships in sub–Saharan Africa (SSA) to accelerate the clinical evaluation and equitable distribution of the CHIKV vaccine and other vaccines against neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), particularly in high outbreak settings and among vulnerable, underrepresented populations.
The objectives are:
1. Enable technology transfer and regional manufacturing by strengthening South–South and South–North collaborations.
2. Build networks and support researchers’ careers through reciprocal staff exchanges and hands on training.
3. Advance CHIKV diagnostics, vaccine access, and policy alignment across SSA through structured stakeholder engagement.
4. Develop a roadmap for future clinical trials of other NTD vaccines in SSA.
This workstream aims to establish durable local expertise, manufacturing capacity, and policy coherence to support sustained outbreak preparedness and response.
